Firjan launches free technical and vocational training programs in Rio de Janeiro

The Federation of Industries of Rio de Janeiro (Firjan) announced 64 free technical high‑school slots at the Firjan SESI school in Itaperuna. The positions are for low‑income students, with priority for Bolsa Família recipients and families earning up to 1.5 minimum wages per capita. Applicants must be at least 14 years old, have completed elementary school, and pass a written exam on Portuguese, mathematics, natural and human sciences on 25 July. Four of the slots are reserved for people with disabilities.

In São Pedro da Aldeia, Firjan SENAI SESI, in partnership with the municipal secretariat, opened enrolment for five free professional‑qualification courses: logistics assistant, storekeeper, construction electrician, and network systems operator. Each course offers 20‑22 places for people aged 16 and over who have at least incomplete elementary education. Courses run on weekdays for 45 working days, starting between 13 July and 3 August, with classes held at the Horto Escola Artesanal and the Firjan SENAI SESI facility. No transport or food allowance is provided.
