Santo Stefano Quisquina receives first forage aid after Monti Sicani wildfires

A week after the July 24 operational meeting of GAL Sicani, local mayors and the Libero Consorzio Comunale di Agrigento, the first concrete aid was delivered to farmers in Santo Stefano Quisquina. The Civil Protection service and the Consortium’s road infrastructure team collected, transported and handed over hay donated by livestock owners from Cianciana and Castronovo. Mayor Francesco Cacciatore attended the hand‑over, which marks the initial implementation of the joint coordination board created at the July meeting.

The initiative, promoted by Consortium President Giuseppe Pendolino, aims to secure feed for livestock, support agricultural businesses hit by the devastating Monti Sicani fires and the accompanying water emergency, and advance the request for a natural disaster declaration.
