First Phosphate transitions to senior issuer status on Nasdaq

First Phosphate Corp. has officially transitioned from a ‘Venture Issuer’ to a senior issuer following its listing on the Nasdaq Global Market. Effective August 10, this regulatory shift brings more stringent disclosure requirements, including increased depth in financial reporting and ad-hoc publicity, as the company moves away from the lighter reporting standards of the TSX Venture Exchange.

The company is currently advancing its flagship Bégin-Lamarche project. Recent mineral resource estimates indicate a 378 percent increase in resources compared to the initial 2024 estimate. CEO John Passalacqua stated that the company is fully capitalized to reach a final investment decision, with a feasibility study targeted for completion by late 2026 or early 2027.

The Bégin-Lamarche project has received political backing from the Quebec government, which included it in the ‘Filon’ program to accelerate the development of critical and strategic minerals. Additionally, the company secured non-repayable federal funding in early August to support necessary infrastructure.
