FIS World Championships venues and ticketing confirmed
The International Ski Federation (FIS) has completed inspections for the upcoming FIS World Championships. Three venues are set to host the events: Crans-Montana in Switzerland for Alpine Skiing, Falun in Sweden for Nordic disciplines, and Montafon in Austria for Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski.
In Crans-Montana, officials have finalized safety installations, broadcast camera placements, and snow preparation strategies. To maintain course quality, organizers have implemented a regulated flow to the finish area using separate corridors for men and women to prevent interference with the racing line.
Regarding the 2027 Alpine World Championships in Crans-Montana, ticket pricing has drawn public attention. While the most expensive VIP packages reach 1,345 Swiss francs, the entry-level option is 20 Swiss francs for spectators on skis along the Mont Lachaux track. Swiss skier Marco Odermatt defended the pricing structure, comparing the necessity of high-value tickets to major sporting events like Formula 1 or Wimbledon to ensure the event's premier status.
