FISAR announces 2026 Best Sommelier and new National Council member

Juri Leo of the San Donà di Piave delegation has been named the FISAR Best Sommelier of Italy 2026. The Premio Rastal was awarded during the 54th National Congress of the Italian Federation of Sommeliers, Hoteliers, and Restaurateurs in Marina di Ascea. Leo won following a competition involving ten finalists that tested technical wine knowledge, service skills, communication, and blind tastings. Daniele D’Angelo and Elena Pagano placed second and third, respectively.

In related organizational developments, Gaspare Stellato from Reggio Calabria has been elected to the FISAR National Council. This election, alongside Rosanna Reale receiving the best membership award for 2027, marks a period of growth for the Reggio Calabria delegation as it seeks to increase representation for the Mezzogiorno region within national bodies.
