Fischereiverband Oberpfalz holds 2026 Fishing Day in Eschenbach

The Fischereiverband Oberpfalz e. V. held its 2026 Fishing Day at the Sportanglerverein Eschenbach e. V. in Eschenbach/Speinshart. The event featured the 'Königsfischen' competition at the Rußweiher, which drew approximately 100 anglers from 17 different clubs. Awards were presented for the district king fisherman, the breeding king, and the club with the best overall result, receiving the 'Oberpfälzer Fischerteller der Vereine' trophy.

In addition to the competition, the event included professional development workshops. One session focused on practical knowledge and legal classifications for fishery supervisors, led by Sonia Rothe. Another workshop, led by Dr. Harvey Harbach and Dr. Thomas Ring, addressed sustainable pond management, water quality, and nutrient cycles in standing waters.
