Fish deaths reported at Edirne's Korucu Göleti

Authorities in Edirne, Turkey have launched an investigation after a mass die‑off of fish was observed in the Korucu Göleti pond. Technical teams from the provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry measured water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH and other quality parameters at several locations. Initial findings did not reveal any direct cause, but the deaths were concentrated in shallow, low‑water areas of the pond.

The investigation team ruled out evidence of illegal electric fishing as a cause. Samples from the pond have been sent to a laboratory for further analysis, and officials said definitive results will be released once the scientific testing is complete.
