Fisher brothers aim to make history with Uganda national teams

Scottish teenage brothers Ollie and Seb Fisher have been invited to train with Uganda’s youth national teams, potentially becoming the first white players to represent the nation.

Ollie, an 18-year-old goalkeeper with Partick Thistle, has been training with the Uganda Under-20 team. His 16-year-old brother Seb, a striker, is training with the Under-17 squad. The brothers are eligible to play for Uganda through their mother, who was born in the country.

The opportunity arose following a conversation between their father and a football consultant in Nigeria. The pair recently spent time training in Jinja, in eastern Uganda. Under the guidance of Uganda Under-20 head coach Laryea Kingston, the brothers expressed being “shocked” and “honoured” by the invitation to participate in the training camps.
