Fisher House Foundation expands support for military families

The Fisher House Foundation and its regional branch, Fisher House Southern California, are working to sustain support for military families facing medical crises. The organization provides free temporary housing near major military and VA medical centers, helping families stay together while a service member receives treatment. This service addresses the financial strain of lodging and food costs that government assistance often does not cover.

To ensure the continuity of these services, Fisher House Southern California is expanding its Legacy Giving Society. This initiative encourages supporters to include long-term contributions in their estate plans through bequests, living trusts, or retirement plan designations. The organization currently supports five Fisher Houses across four locations in Southern California.

The foundation’s mission was inspired by the late Zachary Fisher, who sought to support the military community after witnessing the struggles of families at Naval Medical Center Bethesda. Today, under the leadership of Chairman and CEO Kenneth Fisher, the foundation continues to provide a “home away from home” for those navigating unexpected medical emergencies.
