Fisher-Price toy converted into functional Game Boy Color

A DIY enthusiast and YouTuber known as KOUZEX has successfully converted a Fisher-Price Lil' Gamer toy into a functional Game Boy Color handheld. The original toy, designed for toddlers, features a colorful plastic shell and chunky buttons that typically trigger songs and light patterns.

The modification process involved opening the toy and replacing its internal components with the hardware of a Game Boy Color. The finished device includes a high-quality AMOLED screen, a functional cartridge slot located at the back, and a USB-C port for charging. To maintain the aesthetic of the original toy, the modder repurposed the large side controls to function as volume sliders and kept the original button caps intact.
