Fisherman Isidro Tun Zetina missing in Campeche, Mexico
Authorities in Campeche, Mexico, are conducting search operations for Isidro Trinidad Tun Zetina, a 58-year-old fisherman who went missing on Monday, October 5. Tun Zetina, known as ‘Huachinango’, departed from the Lerma pier around 9:00 a.m. aboard a small boat named ‘El Chino’. The vessel reportedly lacks VHF radio, radar reflectors, or signal lights.
The last known location placed the fisherman approximately 20 kilometers offshore, heading toward a course-change buoy. Search efforts involve the Seventh Naval Zone of the Mexican Navy, the Port Captaincy of Campeche and Champotón, Inpesca, and the Local Commission for the Search of Persons.
Family members have expressed frustration, claiming that a potential sighting at specific coordinates on Tuesday was not investigated because maritime authorities lacked fuel for a helicopter flight. There are growing concerns that deteriorating weather conditions may soon prevent both boats and aircraft from continuing search operations.
