Fisherman Papa Abraham Stemn found dead after canoe capsizes
The search for missing fisherman Papa Abraham Stemn ended in tragedy after his body was discovered on Sea Breeze Beach in Harper, Maryland County. Stemn had disappeared following a canoe-capsizing incident near the Richard Sea-Port while fishing with 20-year-old Bishop Toe. While Toe survived by swimming to the shoreline, Stemn was lost at sea.
The discovery has prompted a full police investigation. Although medical authorities have not officially established the cause or manner of death, preliminary observations regarding the body’s condition and visible injuries have led family members to allege possible foul play.
The incident follows a period of community tension in Harper, during which more than 50 women protested at the Maryland County Administration Building to demand intensified search efforts. While some relatives have made claims involving local spiritual practices, these remain unverified by law enforcement.
