Fishermen rescued after trawler capsizes in Bay of Bengal

Fourteen fishermen were rescued alive after their fishing trawler, named ‘FB Mayer Doa’, capsized in the Bay of Bengal near Talatali Upazila, Barguna. The incident occurred on Thursday evening approximately 10 to 12 kilometers off the coast of the Fakirhat area due to heavy waves and bad weather.

The crew consisted of 13 residents from Talatali and one from Satkhira. Local fishermen from the Fakirhat fish landing center responded to the emergency, using a vessel owned by Salim Majhi to rescue all 14 individuals from the water.

While all fishermen were rescued unharmed, the trawler itself remains missing due to the turbulent sea conditions. Talatali Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Atish Sarkar confirmed that there were no fatalities and stated that local administration is providing food and supplies to the rescued fishermen as they are brought safely to the coast.
