Fishing tournaments scheduled in Aguascalientes and Puerto Vallarta

The Calaveras Fishing Tournament will take place in San José de Gracia, Aguascalientes, on October 31 and November 1, 2026. Organized by the State Institute of Sports of Aguascalientes, the competition features three categories: Boat, Kayak, and Shore. The Boat category includes two fishing blocks, while Kayak and Shore participants will compete in a single block on Sunday. Prizes for winners range from $4,000 to $15,000.

In Puerto Vallarta, the Limpia tu Mar association has rescheduled its third International Trash Fishing Tournament to November 8, 2026. The event was originally set for October 18 but was suspended due to weather conditions and navigation closures caused by Hurricane Trudy. The tournament aims to collect waste from Banderas Bay and raise awareness about marine pollution and land-based waste management.
