FISPES President Mariano Salvatore awarded Stella d’Oro

Mariano Salvatore, President of the Italian Paralympic Sports and Experimental Federation (FISPES), has been awarded the Stella d’Oro al merito sportivo, the highest honor for sports executives. The award was presented during the National Council of the Italian Paralympic Committee held at the CONI Hall of Honor.

Salvatore dedicated the recognition to the athletes, technicians, and executives of paralympic rugby and athletics within FISPES. He highlighted the historical progress made since 2018 regarding the registration of paralympic athletes in military and state sports groups, a reform he helped drive during his tenure with the Fiamme Azzurre sports group.

In addition to his leadership at FISPES, Salvatore has held significant roles within the Penitentiary Police, including commanding the training school in Rome and coordinating national anti-drug canine services.
