Fission raises $10 million led by Pantera Capital for tokenized fund liquidity
Fission, a tokenization infrastructure firm, has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Pantera Capital. The round also saw participation from Circle Ventures, New Form, gumi Cryptos Capital, Borderless Capital, and Ari Rubenstein, CEO of GTS.
The company aims to address liquidity challenges within tokenized private-market and semi-liquid funds. While blockchain technology can improve recordkeeping and transfers, it does not inherently solve the problem of investor redemptions or the lack of secondary market buyers for assets like private credit and private equity. Fission is developing a liquidity layer that allows eligible investors to access capital without waiting for traditional, periodic fund redemption windows.
Fission plans to use the new capital to expand its infrastructure, support a broader range of asset managers, and deepen integrations across the digital investment ecosystem. The platform is designed for institutional and permissioned markets, incorporating necessary compliance controls, transfer restrictions, and investor eligibility requirements to align with regulated securities markets.
