Fission raises $10 million to provide liquidity for tokenized funds
New York-based blockchain fintech Fission has closed a $10 million Series A funding round to develop liquidity infrastructure for tokenized investment funds. The round was led by Pantera Capital and included participation from Circle Ventures, Borderless Capital, and GTS CEO Ari Rubenstein, alongside existing backers New Form and gumi Cryptos Capital.
While tokenization has simplified the issuance and tracking of private fund shares on blockchains, investors often face long redemption windows, sometimes exceeding 200 days. Fission aims to address this by enabling qualified investors to sell positions through digital wallets with settlement occurring in stablecoins. The platform utilizes atomic settlement, ensuring that both fund shares and payments change hands simultaneously in a single transaction.
The company targets institutions holding on-chain assets, such as hedge funds with tokenized private credit or private equity positions, as well as crypto institutions managing treasuries. Fission intends to use the new capital to expand its liquidity capacity, increase the variety of supported funds, and deepen institutional integrations.
