International Tourism Fair 2026 showcases diverse global destinations

Various regional and national tourism entities participated in the 30th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FIT) in Buenos Aires. The event served as a major platform for promoting diverse destinations and fostering business connections within the Latin American travel industry.

In Argentina, several municipalities and provinces showcased their offerings. Tierra del Fuego, represented by INFUETUR, focused on strengthening commercialization and connectivity. Other participants included Chilecito, presenting its cultural and gastronomic calendar, and Río Grande, which highlighted its Malvinas identity. Necochea promoted its sports tourism, while Río Gallegos and Colón presented their natural and historical attractions. San Luis also reported a successful public-private participation.

International delegations used the fair to expand their reach. Mexico promoted its cultural and gastronomic diversity to the South American market. Cuba presented new commercial opportunities to Mexican travel agents. Additionally, Florianópolis (Brazil) engaged with major operators from the Mercosur region to strengthen its international positioning.

In the Dominican Republic, the launch of the Festur Sánchez Ramírez 2026 ecotourism fair was highlighted, aiming to diversify the province's economy beyond mining through sustainable tourism and private investment.
