FIT-Connect to serve as central data exchange infrastructure for German administration
The IT-Planungsrat has designated FIT-Connect as a central component of the ‘Deutschland-Stack’ to facilitate secure data exchange between German administrative bodies. The nationwide rollout of this infrastructure aims to create a seamless digital administration by allowing digital applications and administrative data to be exchanged securely, standardized, and automatically between online services and specialized technical procedures.
FIT-Connect provides end-to-end encrypted data transport, establishing a foundation for uniform communication across digital administrative offerings throughout the country.
ITEBO’s service portal, OpenR@thaus, is already equipped with a certified interface capable of both reading and writing FIT-Connect messages. This bidirectional capability allows data to be not only received but also actively transmitted to downstream systems and technical procedures. Johannes Kaiser, Senior Customer and Partner Manager, noted that this interface prepares municipalities for standardized, nationwide expansion of digital administrative processes.
