FITU concludes with awards for university theater productions

The 33rd edition of the Festival Internacional de Teatro Universitario (FITU) at UNAM has concluded, drawing nearly 9,000 attendees for 66 scenic proposals. The festival featured national and international works from countries including Mexico, Chile, Spain, and Argentina.

Performed by the Orión en la Frente company from the Universidad de Colima, the play explores themes of adolescent misunderstanding, rejection, and symbolic violence. Actor Nahim Márquez received a special jury mention for best actor.

In Category B for undergraduate students without a theater specialty, the winning production was ‘Don Juan o el convidado de piedra’, directed by Gemma Quiroz from the Escuela Nacional de Estudios Superiores, León unit.
