Donald Trump predicts collapse of Cuban government within two years

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the Cuban government will not last much longer, predicting significant political changes on the island within the next two to two and a half years. During recent remarks in Florida, Trump characterized Cuba as a “failed country” and asserted there is a “zero percent” chance that the Castro dynasty will remain in power by the end of his term in 2028.

Trump indicated that his administration is monitoring the situation closely, noting that Secretary of State Marco Rubio is specifically focused on the island due to his Cuban heritage. The President suggested that Washington might address the situation in Cuba following the resolution of conflicts involving Iran and Venezuela, stating, “We are going to finish with one and then maybe we will take a look at the other.”

These comments coincide with economic pressures from the United States, including a decree signed in January that imposes tariffs on countries supplying oil to Cuba. According to reports from Havana, these measures have contributed to severe fuel shortages, impacting transportation, food production, healthcare, and education on the island.
