Fiuggi police investigate beauty pageant fraud involving 150 victims

A fraudulent beauty pageant scheme has left approximately 150 participants and their families from various Italian regions facing significant economic and logistical distress. The organizer, a 50-year-old woman from Rome, allegedly orchestrated a scam by continuously changing the event's dates and locations across different regions of Italy.

Participants, who had already paid registration fees including accommodation, arrived in the thermal town of Fiuggi only to find that no event had been organized and no facilities were prepared. The deception was uncovered following a verbal dispute in Fiuggi, prompting an investigation by the local State Police.

The woman has been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Frosinone. Additionally, the Police Commissioner of Frosinone has initiated proceedings for a mandatory expulsion order (Foglio di Via Obbligatorio), which would prohibit her from returning to Fiuggi.
