Fiumefreddo Bruzio to host health festival for cancer prevention

Fiumefreddo Bruzio will host the Festival per la Salute from September 16 to 20, an initiative organized by the association Casa di Rosa ETS to promote prevention culture and early diagnosis. The event aims to combat high breast cancer mortality rates in Calabria through information campaigns, primary prevention, and medical support.

A central feature of the festival is the Villaggio della Prevenzione, active from September 16 to 19. In collaboration with the Servizio Interdisciplinare Ricerca e Prevenzione in Senologia (SIRPS), the village will offer specialized visits, breast ultrasounds, and 3D mammographies. Additionally, the Komen Italia Prevention Caravan, in partnership with the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS, will provide mammographies for women aged 50 to 69 via a mobile unit.

The program includes scientific meetings with medical experts regarding integrated therapies and nutrition, alongside cultural activities such as book presentations, exhibitions, concerts, and film screenings. Educational activities for children will also be available.
