Fiumicino Jazz Festival 2026 celebrates four musical centenaries

The fifth edition of the Fiumicino Jazz Festival, organized by the Museo del Saxofono, is scheduled for September 2026. Titled ‘1926 ECHOES – Four Centenaries. Four Events. One Legacy’, the festival celebrates the centenaries of four influential 20th-century musicians: John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Franco Cerri, and Nini Rosso.

The main program will run from September 4 to 6, 2026, with a preview on August 30. The concerts are free to the public without reservation, subject to availability.

On Friday, September 4, American saxophonist Michael Rosen will perform ‘The Spiritual Voice – Omaggio a John Coltrane’, a project exploring the improvisational language and spiritual dimension of Coltrane’s work. On Saturday, September 5, the Delogu Quartet, featuring trumpeter Maurizio Oriente, will perform ‘The Italian Sound – Omaggio a Franco Cerri e Nini Rosso’, honoring the legacies of the prominent Italian musicians Franco Cerri and Nini Rosso.
