FIVB Girls’ U17 World Championship enters knockout stage
The FIVB Girls’ U17 World Championship 2026 has entered the knockout stages in Chile. Tunisia secured its first victory of the tournament by defeating Puerto Rico 3–2 in a five-set match. Despite Puerto Rico overcoming a 0–2 deficit and leading 7–2 in the final set, Tunisia recovered to win the deciding set 15–13.
Following this result, Puerto Rico moves to the classification round for positions 21 to 24, where they are scheduled to face Egypt on August 14.
As the tournament progresses into the round of 16, the United States, China, Poland, and South Korea have emerged as favorites after leading their respective groups. The championship final is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 16, at the Centro de Deportes Colectivos del Parque Estadio Nacional.
