Five Charred Bodies Found Near Rosario, Sinaloa

Authorities discovered the charred remains of five men in a brush‑covered area near the community of Matatán, in the municipality of Rosario, Sinaloa. The bodies showed signs of gunshot wounds before being intentionally burned. The find was made during a search operation involving the State Search Commission, the National Defense Secretariat, state and municipal police, and forensic officials who will transfer the remains to the Mazatlán Medical Forensic Service for DNA testing. Officials noted the victims could be from Durango, Nayarit, Jalisco, or possibly Colombia, though this has not been confirmed.

In a separate operation in Culiacán, state police, the army and the National Guard recovered two stolen Nissan vehicles—a red pickup and a gray sedan—after receiving citizen reports. The vehicles were secured and handed over to the appropriate authorities for investigation and eventual return to their owners, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat vehicle theft in the region.
