Five Eyes Warn AI-Driven Cyber Threats Shrink Response Window to Months

On June 22, 2026 the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand cyber‑security agencies issued a joint advisory warning that frontier AI models are dramatically accelerating cyber threats. The agencies said the timeline for advanced offensive hacking capabilities to move from discovery to exploitation has compressed from years to months, stating, "The rapid pace of frontier AI development means cyber risk assumptions can become outdated in months, not years."
