Five leopards sighted in Thailand's Kaeng Krachan National Park
A wildlife photographer captured a rare sighting of five leopards simultaneously in Thailand's Kaeng Krachan National Park. The group, located near the Ban Krang Camp road, consisted of two black leopards and three spotted leopards.
Preliminary assessments suggest the animals are juveniles, aged between two and three years, and likely belong to the same litter. Park Chief Mongkol Chaipakdee noted that the presence of these apex predators indicates a healthy ecosystem with sufficient prey within the UNESCO World Heritage forest.
The footage and photographs have been provided to authorities for scientific research and to assist in monitoring biodiversity and wildlife movement. The sighting occurred approximately five kilometers from a planned dolomite mine.
