Madrid gang behind violent robberies of video‑content creators busted
Police forces from the Spanish National Police and the Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra jointly dismantled a criminal organization based in Madrid that specialised in violent robberies, illegal detention, kidnapping and assault of audiovisual content creators. The gang lured technicians and video‑production staff through social‑media offers for fake music‑video shoots, rented apartments for the meetings and used masked assailants with firearms and knives to intimidate victims and force them to hand over equipment, phones and online‑banking passwords.
Four suspects were arrested – three in Madrid and one in A Coruña – with two already placed in prison. Judicial authorities ordered provisional detention for the two identified leaders while the operation remains open to further arrests. The coordinated raids recovered weapons, large quantities of illicit drugs, cash and other seized items, and the total financial loss to victims exceeded €70,000. The crimes occurred in several locations, including Madrid, Coslada, Badalona, Terrassa and A Coruña.
