Dominican Air Force captain accused of killing two men in Los Frailes
Authorities in Santo Domingo Este are investigating a violent incident in the Los Frailes sector where two men, identified as Franny de la Paz Pérez, 42, and Antonio Rosario Medina, were shot and killed.
Preliminary reports suggest the shooting occurred at a commercial beverage establishment on Roca Cueva Street following a dispute allegedly motivated by jealousy. Witnesses claim a captain from the Dominican Air Force (FARD) was involved in the altercation after an acquaintance expressed interest in dancing with a woman at the venue. The situation reportedly escalated into a physical struggle and gunfire.
Local human rights representative Jackson Mercedes expressed concern over the incident, calling for a transparent and impartial investigation. Police and the Public Ministry are currently searching for the officer and have secured the scene, where 9mm shell casings were recovered.
