Five tourists rescued in Chon Buri forest

Five tourists were rescued from a forest in Chon Buri, Thailand, on October 28 after two separate groups became lost while hiking near the Khao Tao mountain viewpoint. The groups, located near the Huai Luek Reservoir in the Bang Lamung district, accidentally encountered one another in the woods after losing their way while exploring the mountain.

The first group included two individuals who had traveled by motorcycle from Rangsit, while the second group consisted of three people from the Na Jomtien area who were attempting to reach the summit for the sunset. After being unable to find a path back, the tourists contacted the Huai Yai Police Station.

Rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation in Pattaya conducted a foot search through the mountainous terrain. Due to the difficult landscape and confusing trails, rescuers had to take a long route around the mountain to reach the group. The operation lasted approximately two hours, and all five individuals were brought to safety without reported injuries.
