FIXER integrates AI masking tool into Sovereign GaiXer

FIXER has integrated a new information masking application into its on-premise generative AI service, Sovereign GaiXer. Developed in collaboration with Iga City in Mie Prefecture, the tool is designed to assist with information disclosure requests by automatically identifying sensitive data such as names, addresses, and phone numbers.

The application follows a ‘Human in the Loop’ design, where the AI suggests candidates for redaction while human officials make the final determination based on local regulations. Because the processing occurs within a closed, on-premise environment, it minimizes the risk of leaking confidential administrative documents to external cloud services.

Sovereign GaiXer is positioned as a solution for industries facing challenges with cloud-based AI, such as strict data governance requirements and unpredictable usage costs. Consultants from Fortience Consulting have noted that while many companies seek to improve efficiency, security concerns regarding core technologies and personal information often act as barriers to cloud AI adoption.
