Fjord trailer released for Cristian Mungiu’s Palme d'Or winner

The first trailer has been released for ‘Fjord’, the new film by Romanian director Cristian Mungiu, which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Distributed by Neon, the drama is scheduled for a global theatrical release on October 9, including in the United States.

The story follows the Gheorghiu family, a Romanian-Norwegian couple who move to a remote Norwegian coastal village. The narrative explores themes of social conflict, mistrust, and moral dilemmas as the family faces suspicion and scrutiny from the local community regarding their parenting and behavior.

The film stars Renate Reinsve and Sebastian Stan. Following their previous collaboration in ‘A Different Man’, the duo is being highlighted by critics as a major draw for the upcoming awards season, with the film already being discussed as a potential Oscar contender.
