FK Auda defeats FK Liepāja 3-2 in dramatic comeback victory
FK Auda secured a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory against FK Liepāja in the 32nd round of the Latvian football Virsliga. Despite Liepāja leading twice through goals by Joseph Oloko and Oloko's second of the match, Auda managed to equalize twice.
Oskars Rubenis leveled the score at 2-2 in the 80th minute, and Jajen Gerolds scored the winning goal in the second minute of stoppage time. The winning strike deflected off Bart Strālmanis and goalkeeper Dāvis Ošs to seal the result.
Following the match, Liepāja coach Jānis Goba attributed the loss to a loss of focus in the final minutes, specifically citing a series of errors during a corner kick in the 92nd minute. While Liepāja's unbeaten streak has ended, they continue to fight for a top-four finish to qualify for European competition. FK Auda remains third in the standings and has already secured a spot in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers.
