Austria Wien advances to Conference League play-offs after penalty shootout win

FK Austria Wien has advanced to the UEFA Conference League play-off round after defeating Beitar Jerusalem in a dramatic penalty shootout. Following a 2-1 result in the first leg, the match ended 1-2 after extra time, leveling the aggregate score and forcing the decisive shootout.

In the penalty competition, Austria Wien emerged victorious with a 4-2 win. Goalkeeper Samuel Sahin-Radlinger played a crucial role by saving a penalty, while Sanel Saljic converted the final decisive kick. The match, held at the Franz-Horr-Stadion before over 7,600 fans, was designated a high-risk game by police due to concerns regarding the Beitar Jerusalem supporters.

Austria Wien will now face Sporting Braga in the final qualifying stage for the Conference League group phase. The two legs are scheduled for August 20 and August 27.
