FK Budućnost faces calls for audit amid financial and sporting concerns

The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) is calling for an independent audit and investigation into the management of FK Budućnost. Officials are seeking to address concerns regarding millions in budget expenditures, the club's worst sporting results in 20 years, and the loss of its European competition license.

Vladan Arsović, a DPS official, has proposed that the Podgorica City Assembly review the club's financial operations, management structure, and use of city funds for the 2025–2026 period. The initiative aims to determine responsibility for decisions that have impacted the club's stability ahead of its centenary in June 2025.

In response to reports of unrest, FK Budućnost issued a statement clarifying that supporters known as the 'Varrari' did not forcibly storm a board meeting. The club stated that the meeting took place at its own facilities rather than the City Hall building, and that fans were permitted to enter and express their views in a respectful manner, despite a minor incident occurring outside the entrance.
