FK Csíkszereda women's team exits UEFA Europa League

FK Csíkszereda's women's football team was eliminated from the UEFA Women's Europa League after a 1–0 home defeat against the Icelandic champions, Breiðablik. The match, held at the Csíkszereda city stadium, marked a historic milestone as the club's first time playing an international cup match before a home crowd.

Following a heavy 8–1 loss in the first leg in Iceland, the Romanian side showed improved organization and determination. The match remained scoreless at halftime thanks to strong defensive play and several key saves by goalkeeper Bettina Böröcz. However, Breiðablik secured the victory in the 55th minute when Katelyn Duong scored from close range following a corner kick scramble.

Despite late attempts to equalize, including a dangerous free kick by Anna Ezer, Breiðablik advanced with a 9–1 aggregate score. Head coach Péter Kollár noted that while the result reflected the play on the pitch, the team gained valuable confidence by competing bravely against a more experienced international opponent.
