FK Jablonec defeats RFS Riga 2‑0 to take lead in Conference League tie

FK Jablonec won the first leg of the 3rd‑qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League, beating Latvian side RFS Riga 2‑0 at the Střelnice stadium. Vachtang Čanturišvili opened the scoring in the 18th minute and Matěj Polidar added a second in the 53rd minute, giving the Czech club a comfortable advantage for the return match in Riga.

Coach Luboš Kozel warned his players not to underestimate the opponent, while also noting that Jablonec entered the competition after a 2‑0 victory over Varaždín in the previous round. UEFA’s recent administrative reshuffle, which removed Karviná, allowed the Czech clubs to take part in the Conference League qualifiers. The win puts Jablonec in a strong position to progress to the group stage.
