Riga FC qualifies for UEFA Conference League league phase

Riga FC has qualified for the UEFA Conference League league phase after defeating Faroe Islands side Klaksvik KI with a 2-1 aggregate score. This marks the third time a Latvian club has reached the group stages of a UEFA competition, following Ventspils and RFS.

The club's opponents for the league phase have been determined. Riga FC will host Atalanta (Italy) and Kairat Almaty (Kazakhstan), and will play away against Pafos (Cyprus), Borac (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Kauno Žalgiris (Lithuania). Additionally, they will host Czech side Jablonec.

The league phase follows a new format where 36 teams compete in a single table. The top eight teams advance directly to the round of 16, while teams ranked 9th to 24th enter a play-off round. The bottom 12 teams will be eliminated from European competition after the six matches.
