Fkih Ben Salah hosts 4th International Migrant Forum
The fourth edition of the International Migrant Forum in Fkih Ben Salah has concluded, held under the theme ‘Energies and Competencies for the Future of Morocco’. The event, which ran from August 1 to August 15, aimed to strengthen ties between the Moroccan diaspora and local institutions while exploring ways to integrate expatriate expertise into regional development.
A key highlight was the National Migrant Day, attended by provincial governor Mohammed Qarnachi and various local officials. The program included honoring distinguished individuals from the region who have excelled in fields such as medicine, engineering, investment, sports, and the arts, both within Morocco and abroad.
To promote local heritage, a documentary titled ‘The Pass of Sultans and Trade Caravans – 18th Century in Fkih Ben Salah Province’ was screened, documenting the historical significance of the region's landmarks. Additionally, information tents were established in Fkih Ben Salah, Souk Sebt, El Ouled Nemma, El Baradia, and Ould Zidouh to assist migrants with investment opportunities and services. Records show 3,160 participants registered at these tents, with the majority residing in Italy (41%), Spain (37%), and France (15%).
