Flag Football Serie B to debut in São Paulo

The Brazilian Flag Football Serie B is set to debut this weekend at Clube Empyreo in Leme, São Paulo. The tournament features 24 teams, divided equally between 12 male and 12 female squads, competing in a total of 68 matches scheduled for September 5 and 6, 2026.

This competition is part of a new national structure established by the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol Americano (CBFA) to expand the sport following its inclusion in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic program. The new hierarchy utilizes regional championships to determine national placement: the top two teams from each region advance to the SuperFinal Zurich, the third and fourth place teams enter Serie B, and the fifth and sixth place teams move to Serie C.

Earlier this season, the Serie C division concluded with BH Wolves and Miners Sports emerging as the male and female champions, respectively. The Serie B serves as the second tier of this national pyramid, aiming to increase participation and regional presence across Brazil.
