Flaga Hungária issues safety alert for overfilled gas cylinders in Hungary

Flaga Hungária Kft. identified a possible deviation in the filling process of a limited number of PB‑type gas cylinders during routine quality checks. The company says a small batch may have been filled above the maximum permitted mass. As a precaution, Flaga has launched a nationwide inspection and reporting scheme, notifying the relevant authorities.

Customers and authorized resellers are instructed to verify the cylinders by comparing the tare (empty) weight with the filled weight indicated on the foil label. If the measured net weight exceeds the label value, the cylinder must be reported immediately via the provided phone line or e‑mail, and its use, transport, sale or refilling is prohibited. Cylinders that have been in operation for more than 30 minutes without incident do not require further action, but inspection is still advised. Flaga also reiterated standard safety handling rules—keep cylinders away from heat, open flame, sparks and store them in a cool, well‑ventilated area.

The company has set up a 24‑hour assistance line for affected users and is cooperating with local authorities throughout the verification process.
