Flamenco and traditional music events announced in Spain and South America

Various flamenco and traditional music events are taking place across Spain and South America. In Almería, Spain, a major Flamenco Festival will be held on September 12 at the Auditorio Municipal Maestro Padilla. Organized by the Hermandad Gitana de Almería, the gala features artists such as Duquende and Juan de Juan, aiming to promote social messages of equality, respect, and dignity for the Gitano people. Additionally, singer María Sorroche recently performed as part of the ‘Noches de Verano en El Toyo’ cycle at the Plaza del Mar Amphitheater, showcasing local talent alongside various percussionists and guitarists.

In South America, Alba Carmona and guitarist Jesús Guerrero are launching their new project, ‘Ofrenda’. The tour, which explores traditional oral music including tango and flamenco, is scheduled to begin on September 16 in Bariloche, Argentina, at the FIMBA festival. The tour will continue through Córdoba and La Plata in Argentina, followed by a performance in Montevideo, Uruguay, at Sala Zitarrosa, before concluding at La Usina del Arte in Buenos Aires on September 25.
