Flamenco dance performances held in León

The performing arts season in León is featuring prominent flamenco dance productions. Rafaela Carrasco, the 2023 National Dance Award winner, presents ‘CreaVIVA’ at the Auditorio Ciudad de León. The performance, co-directed with Álvaro Tato, explores the nine Greek muses through nine distinct pieces that blend flamenco with traditional folklore and Greco-Latin poetry.

Additionally, the Compañía Antonio Gades performed the dance production ‘Carmen’ at the Teatro del Bicentenario as part of the 54th Cervantino International Festival. Based on the novel by Prosper Mérimée, the production uses flamenco and Spanish dance to tell a story of passion and individual freedom, featuring choreography originally created by Antonio Gades and Carlos Saura.
