Flamenco Festival Salero in Chiclana and Baleo Folk Concert Light Up Spanish Towns

The Salero en Chiclana flamenco festival took place on Saturday, 8 August, at the Campo Municipal de Deportes in Chiclana. The free event, which required prior invitation, featured singers Salomé Pavón, Luis Malena, Malena Carrasco and José María de Alcalá, with guitarists Luis Carrasco, Miguel Ramos and Currito Malena. It was dedicated to Juan Alba Rubio and included dance performances by Ibero Artis Flamenco and the sevillana bailaora María del Mar Montero Morillo.

On the same weekend, the folk group Baleo performed in the plaza of Yecla de Yeltes as part of the Diputación de Salamanca’s “Noches de Cultura” programme. The concert showcased songs collected from villages such as Sobradillo, Peralejos de Abajo and Villavieja de Yeltes, performed by leader José Ángel Mateos and band members Nino Rodríguez, Arturo Rueda, Toño García, with vocalists Ana Isabel Martín and Agurtzane Alonso. The event was followed by a film screening and a theatrical performance scheduled for later in August.
