Flamenco festivals scheduled in Ogíjares and Benalmádena

Several flamenco festivals are scheduled to take place in Andalusia, Spain. In Ogíjares, the 47th edition of the National Flamenco Singing Festival is approaching, with organizers noting that ticket sales are nearing capacity as the event prepares to host prominent figures in the genre.

In Benalmádena, the 23rd edition of the ‘El Quejigal’ Flamenco Festival will be held on September 12 at the Los Nadales Fairground. The program includes performances by the verdiales group ‘Raíces de Almogía’, dancer Antonio de Verónica, and singer-songwriter Juanfra Carrasco. Local officials emphasized the festival's role in promoting flamenco, which has been recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
