Flamengo dominates Brazilian Gymnastics Championships as Lorrane Oliveira lands historic solo combo
The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo won the team competition at the Campeonato Brasileiro de Ginástica Artística with a score of 160.200, ahead of Pinheiros (149.850) and SESI São Paulo (148.850). Flamengo gymnasts also swept the individual all‑around podium, with Flávia Saraiva taking first place (53.900) and teammate Lorrane Oliveira finishing second (52.750).
In the solo (floor) final, Flamengo’s Lorrane Oliveira executed an unprecedented combination – a hand‑stand flic followed by a double twist in a tucked position – earning a 0.2‑point bonus and becoming the first gymnast to perform the sequence in an official competition. The event, held in Brasília’s Arena Nilson Nelson from 7–9 August, was the first time the national championship took place in the capital and featured nearly 100 athletes, including Olympic medalist Rebeca Andrade, who posted a world‑leading 14.800 on vault.
