Flamengo faces Atlético-MG in pursuit of Brasileirão leadership

Flamengo hosts Atlético-MG at the Maracanã on Monday, October 26, for the 32nd round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. Following their elimination from the Libertadores semifinals by Estudiantes, Flamengo aims to reclaim the top spot in the league standings. Currently in second place with 67 points, a victory would move them ahead of Palmeiras, who holds 69 points.

Atlético-MG enters the match in sixth place with 50 points, seeking to move into the G-5 zone for Libertadores qualification. The team arrives buoyed by their recent advancement to the Copa Sul-Americana final, despite a recent loss to Montevideo City Torque.

Both squads face availability challenges. Flamengo may rotate its lineup, with players like Varela and Ayrton Lucas potentially starting. Atlético-MG will be without Cuello due to injury and Everson, who did not travel, while Gustavo Scarpa is expected to return to the lineup.
