Flamengo leads YouTube viewership and approaches R$ 1 billion in player spending

Flamengo has emerged as the leader in YouTube viewership among Brazilian football clubs for July, according to data from Ibope Repucom. The club also holds the top position in cumulative viewership for 2026. Palmeiras and Santos follow in second and third place, respectively. Santos has shown significant growth through the use of Shorts and other social media formats, totaling 122 million views so far this year.

Financially, Flamengo reported a first-semester revenue of R$ 839 million, a figure exceeding the annual turnover of 14 other Serie A clubs. The club's spending on player acquisitions under the current administration could surpass R$ 1 billion, with R$ 432.266 million already invested in 2026 alone. Major signings include Lucas Paquetá, Vitão, and Andrew. The club is currently involved in negotiations for striker Luiz Henrique, which could push total spending past the R$ 1 billion milestone.
