Flamengo locks in Alex Sandro, targets Danilo ahead of transfer window

Flamengo president Luiz Eduardo Baptista confirmed that left‑back Alex Sandro has agreed to extend his contract through 2027 after the club presented a career plan that convinced the player. Baptista also expressed hope that midfielder Danilo, whose contract runs until the end of the year, will remain with the club following the World Cup.

Baptista said Flamengo is not desperate for new signings, describing the current squad as “excellent” and stating the club will not pay “any price” for players under pressure. He highlighted market inflation, citing FIFA’s influence and a recent R$ 315.7 million investment in Paquetá. The Brazilian transfer window is set to open on 22 July, and Flamengo’s interest in Danilo has been quantified at about €40 million (R$ 234 million).
